Stories From The Classroom
I had never thought I'd love teaching biology-related subjects as much as I have during my years as a graduate student at two different universities. Teaching is such an important way of not only spreading information about our planet, but also incredibly necessary to the development of critical thinking.
Museum Studies Courses
Designing a completely new course for USU from scratch was exhilarating! Combining interests in biology and museum studies, this Collection Material Handling course offered Spring 2023 let students gain hands-on experience at each collection on the USU Logan campus!
Field Trip Immersions
As a co-instructor for the Natural Resource Interpretation course, I designed and scheduled field trips to various locations in northern Utah to show students real-world interpretation materials, to allow them time for critique, and to develop their own interpretation styles.
Students participating in the USU Collection Material Handling course labs, visiting the Library Special Collection learning about their compactor system, the Insect Collection with insect pinning demonstrations and practice, and the Geology Museum learning about various display methods, in Spring 2023.
